Location Tier Filtering

You can limit the results from the Search endpoint (See Search for details) to those within a radius of the location (for most locations), relative to the size of the location (location tiers).

The radius of the location you have specified is determined, and then multiplied by the figure provided by the locationTiers parameter.

Note: For some searches, we will automatically determine a radius, based on the location and the query. If the locationTiers parameter is supplied, it overrides the automatically applied radius. To prevent a filter from being applied for your query, you can specify a value of -1.

Example

For example, to search for restaurants located within 2 tiers of Melbourne VIC:

http://api.sensis.com.au/v1/test/search?query=restaurants&location=Melbourne+VIC&locationTiers=2&key=...

This would exclude any results that are located more than two times what we determine the size of Melbourne to be.

To remove any automatic radius filter:

http://api.sensis.com.au/v1/test/search?query=restaurants&location=Melbourne+VIC&locationTiers=-1&key=...
